Frequently Asked Questions

This FAQ is a list of short answers to some of the frequent queries received by us. The answers below will help you get started with your interaction with the Information Resource Centre. If you do not find what you are looking for, kindly visit Library or call at 011-23230059.

1. Am I entitled to get books issued?
Ans: This is the reference library. You can consult the documents available and take the xerox copy of the relevant part on payment basis

2. How can I access the Information Resource Centre catalogue?
Ans. Click on “OPAC” from the ‘Catalogue’ Button available on Information Resource Centre website and select the appropriate catalogue you are looking for.

3. What are the various electronic resources available in the Information Resource Centre?
Ans. There are many e-services available. Please check up at “Online Databases/Online journals/Services”

4. What are the business hours for the Information Resource Centre?
Ans. The Information Resource Centre will be accessible 9:00 am to 5:30 pm on all working days.

5. Can I carry my personal books into the Information Resource Centre?
Ans. No

6. How to see the holdings of AIU Information Resource Centre?
Ans. Users may search the catalogue by Title, Author, Publisher, Series and Year of Publication etc.

7. Can I issue books from the Reference section?
Ans. No

8. Can I see my “checked out” items in WEBOPAC?
Ans. Yes

Library Announcements

1. The students are instructed to carry their College ID cards on daily basis inside the library, and they have to produce it whenever asked by the library staff.

2. Issue of books will be for 14 days.

3. All kinds of Eatables are strictly prohibited inside the Library.

4. Members should not talk or discuss as they may disturb other readers. Reading halls are meant for individual study and research only.

5. Loan – Terms And Conditions Before getting the books/magazines issued from the library the pages should be checked thoroughly and if the pages are missing or marked/underlined with pen, pencil or any other means, kindly get it signed by the staff on duty at the circulation desk. While returning, if pages are found missing/marked borrower shall be held responsible. Lost and damaged books must be replaced.

6. Library Users can see their transactions through Installed LED at Circulation Counter.
